Blog 1 and discussion

First of all, well done everyone for getting the first blog done. It's always easier after the first time to start to give voice to your thoughts, but many of you hit the ground running and produced some great ideas. Well done, too, to those of you who went back and read the prologue. It does give a great overview of the book's ideas, and helps to begin to put things in focus. It seems that most of you are finding new concepts in the book that can relate in some way to your own experiences and ideas, and I enjoyed reading about those connections you're making. It seems that you're also getting the idea that the zero-point field has enormous implications in relation to many disiplines and philosophical movements, including, of course, religion. As you contine to read and write about the book, keep thinking about ways in which it relates to your personal experiences, and think, too, about how it might realte to ideas of altered states of consciousness (ASCs) and to creativity, and both. It might be useful, too, to think about the differences between our Western way of thinking in comparison to other cultures, and to begin to ask how and why those differences emerged. We began to touch upon those comparisons during class discussion.
I look forward to reading next week's installment.
[BTW, please remember to label your blogs (bottom right hand corner of the "compose" box).]
Thanks.
Enjoy the long weekend.
